I’ve been doing a bunch of on-model pony rehairs lately, so here’s Twilight! I’m in the process of doing the whole mane 6, which I’ll be posting as a group later, but I really liked how Twilight came out…
She’s done with brushed and straightened yarn fiber, with a couple drops of diluted styling glue in her mane. Her tail has no product in it and is silky and soft. :D
I’ll be selling ones like her and others in about a month or so, price undetermined atm (rehairing and styling takes quite a few hours), but email me if you’re super interested! arupaka.art[at]gmail[.]com. c:
Here’s that “super secret pony squid” I mentioned when I first posted about the squids… It’s Derpy!
Everfree was a huge success selling these, they all sold out within the first day (save for one last Pinkie squid, which sold within 10 minutes of day two).
AND JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS, I’m taking commissions for pony squids now!! Please go here for more info! (Reblogs are appreciated to spread the word. ;D )
AAAHHHH THE FULL SET IS FINALLY DONE!
40+ hours of work to make all of them, of course not counting the original pattern drafting (which took days), designing color schemes and cutie marks, obtaining supplies, etc etc… I’m pretty pleased with how they all came out. :’D
This full set will be for sale at Everfree! Look for my booth in the dealer’s hall. I’ll maybe have some duplicates completed and for sale by then as well, as well as a ~super secret pony squid~ that you’ll have to stop by to see!
Figuring out how to translate their cutie marks into such tiny little knitting stitches is hard! Especially since if I embroider too much, it’ll look bad. ;; It’s like trying to figure out minimalist pixel art, but the pixels are wider than they are tall.
Now I’m just trying to figure out how to do the full color scheme on rainbow dash without killing myself…
Squid WIPs!
Twilight’s the only finished one of the lot so far. Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Rarity all need cutie marks, while Rarity needs a bit of a makeover - I want to redo her mantle fins and long tentacles with a brighter purple that I got, and give her some light blue eyelids with sparkly felt, ooh la la. Then Rainbow Dash and Applejack!
Planning on doing a little mini Spike, too. Maybe as a tiny jellyfish. :3c
Oh my gosh Mumbles, sumi ink gives me a lot of brush control, the flow’s just right.
but boy is it smelly and hard to wash out of the sable hairs.
that Spike looks terribly ridiculous.
AAHHH, but I’m glad you like how it works! (and this is cute!!)

Still working on my 800-sketch sketchbook, so while digging for subjects, I decided to draw all my pony figures. Each is a 5-minute pen sketch.
Painted a Twilight to try out watercolor + colored pencil outlines. :B Came out okay! Never painting in a moleskine sketchbook again, though. Jesus christ that paper HATES WATER.
